Project duration:
03/2023
Project problem:
The logistics company needs to improve their damaged delivery reporting flow on their website to provide customers with a more efficient and transparent reporting process and reduce delays in resolving complaints.
Project goal:
The goal of the project is to develop a user-friendly and effective damaged delivery reporting flow on the logistics company's website to enhance customer satisfaction, enable prompt investigation and resolution of reported issues, and identify root causes to implement preventative measures.
My role:
Lead UX Designer.
Responsibilities:
User research, wireframing, prototyping defining future improvement.

User pain points
1
Complexity
Customers may find the current damaged delivery reporting process on the logistics company's website to be confusing and time-consuming, leading to frustration and dissatisfaction.
2
Lack of transparency and communication
Customers may feel that there is a lack of transparency and communication during the damaged delivery reporting process, leading to uncertainty about the status of their complaint and a lack of confidence in the company's ability to address the issue.

Customers may feel left in the dark about the status of their complaint, which could lead to dissatisfaction with the logistics company's service and a lack of confidence in their ability to address the issue.
Persona profile

User journey map

After conducting research and analyzing user needs, I created low fidelity mockups to explore potential design solutions. I then conducted a usability study with the mockups and implemented the resulting feedback and insights into the design process. As a result, I was able to refine the mockups and create high fidelity versions that better met user needs and goals. The iterative process of testing and refining the design ensured that the final product was both functional and user-friendly.

Usability study - findings
01
User want clear and concise instructions for reporting damaged deliveries, with step-by-step guidance on how to complete each stage of the process.
02
Users want regular and timely updates on the status of the complaint, with estimated resolution times and clear communication from the logistics company.
03
Users want simplification of the reporting process, with fewer steps required and a more streamlined interface for submitting information about damaged deliveries.

Accessibility considerations
Accessibility considerations should be an important aspect of website design to ensure that all users, regardless of their abilities, can access and use the website. For a website that is focused on reporting damaged deliveries, it is particularly important to consider the needs of users with visual or cognitive impairments who may have difficulty navigating the website or understanding the instructions for reporting an issue.
To address these accessibility concerns, the website design should include high contrast color schemes to make the content easier to see for users with visual impairments. Additionally, a screen reader should be incorporated into the website to provide auditory feedback for users with visual impairments who may have difficulty navigating the website. Clear and consistent labeling of buttons and icons should be used throughout the website to assist users with cognitive or learning disabilities.
The website should also be designed to be keyboard accessible, allowing users to navigate the website using only their keyboard without the need for a mouse. This is particularly important for users with motor impairments who may have difficulty using a mouse. Finally, the website should be designed to be compatible with assistive technologies such as screen readers or magnification software, which can help users with disabilities access and use the website more easily.
Takeaways
Impact: By implementing these accessibility considerations, the logistics company's damaged delivery reporting website will be more inclusive and accessible to a wider range of users. Users with visual impairments will be able to see and navigate the website more easily, while those with cognitive or learning disabilities will be able to better understand and interact with the interface. This will result in a more positive user experience and increase the likelihood of users reporting damaged deliveries, leading to better customer satisfaction and retention for the logistics company. Additionally, incorporating these accessibility features may also help the company comply with accessibility standards and regulations, avoiding potential legal issues.
What I learned: It was good opportunity to learn Adobe XD and get more knowledge of creating projects for both desktops and mobile.
Next steps
01
Market research: Conduct thorough market research to determine potential customers, competitors, and market trends. This will help the company identify its unique selling proposition and develop products or services that meet the needs of its target audience.
02
Streamline internal processes: Evaluate internal processes and identify areas for improvement in order to increase efficiency and reduce costs. This could involve implementing new software systems, hiring additional staff, or outsourcing certain tasks.
03
Expand marketing efforts: Once the company has a clear understanding of its target audience and unique selling proposition, it can begin to expand its marketing efforts. This could involve creating a comprehensive marketing plan that includes digital marketing strategies, social media marketing, content marketing, and traditional advertising methods. The goal is to increase brand awareness and drive more traffic to the company's website or physical location, which can lead to increased sales and revenue.
